An Iyaganku Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Ibadan has ordered that a 73-year-old man accused of drowning his tenant be remanded in prison, pending legal advice from the Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp Sikiru Opaleye told the court that the defendant, Ahmed Akanji, on Feb. 7, at about 8pm at Odo-Owo allegedly caused the death of one Akpayi by drowning him.

He said the corpse of Akpayi was also dragged out of the river and dumped in a forest. Chief Magistrate O. O. Lakanmi adjourned the matter to March 23 for mention. (NAN)
