A 36-year-old commercial bus driver was, yesterday, remanded in prison for allegedly stealing two mobile phones worth N55,000 while armed with a screw driver.
Charles Inibu, whose residential address was not given, is facing a two-count charge bordering on armed robbery before an Igbosere magistrates’ court, Lagos. The defendant’s plea was not taken.
In her ruling, the magistrate, Mrs M. O. Ope-Agbe, ordered that the accused be remanded pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She adjourned the case until March 13.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the defendant on February 8, armed himself with a screw driver and robbed one Toki Omotayo of his Nokia and Samsung phones, all valued at N55,000.
According to him, the offences contravened sections 297 (2) and 299 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015. (NAN)
